Services Include:

  • Diagnostic assessment

  • Counseling/Psychotherapy

  • Case Management

  • Crisis intervention

  • Consultation with educational staff

  • Referral to psychiatric services

Thrive Therapeutics provides behavioral health services for referred students with behavioral, psychological, and emotional problems, as well as problems related to traumas that so often lead to anxiety, depression, anger and isolation.  We provide all services at your school and make referrals to psychiatric services.  Often, we can help even the most disruptive students learn to cope more effectively, get along better with other students and teachers and quickly make greater academic gains.

Thriving at School

Our school-based services are different from many provided by other agencies inasmuch as we only place full-time therapists who work your school’s calendar each school day.  Because our therapists will not split their time between other schools, they will integrate quickly into your school environment and work closely with you, your teachers, administrators, and special educators.  Our therapists will assess referred students quickly, meet with teachers and parents to understand the children who are referred, and build schedules for therapy services that meet the needs of the school and students.  We will also be able to quickly intervene when those referred and assessed children are in crisis and struggling with the very problems that brought them to us for help.  Students are typically referred by family members, teachers, administrators and special education staff seeking help for students with attention difficulties, hyperactivity, anger management problems, depression or mood swings, and/or difficulties coping with trauma, separation/loss, or other dramatic life changes.

All services are provided at no cost to schools.

The students that we serve must have public health insurance (Medicaid) and be assessed and identified to have a behavioral health problem.

Thrive Therapeutics requires only the following:

  • A safe, quiet, and confidential space to meet with students.

  • Collaboration with teachers for referred students with periodic classroom and counseling progress reports.

Referral

Thrive Therapeutics will provide referral forms that help identify students who are appropriate for mental health services. A school staff member must first contact the parent or guardian about making a referral. Once the referral is made, Thrive Therapeutics staff will call to schedule the assessment.

Assessment

The assessment process typically takes 60- 90 minutes. The legal guardian must be present for the assessment.  With young children, the assessment is generally completed with just the guardian.  With adolescents, the assessment is completed with both the parent and teen.  Assessments and follow-up mental health services will take place at the school.

Services

Counseling/psychotherapy services can start immediately after the assessment is completed; generally within 7 days of a referral being made. All services are provided by Ohio licensed clinicians on a weekly basis (and more often as deemed necessary).  Thrive Therapeutics’ providers can typically attend intervention team and/or IEP meetings for students who have been referred as clients, as well as those whom the intervention team wishes to refer for services.
